Here we are, Hurricane Season 2007. Just in time for me to travel to the much anticipated CMA (Certified Mold Assessor's) Class in New Orleans. Hurricane Dean is making it's way across the Atlantic threatening us with the possibility of a Gulf Landfall. Well, if all goes well, he will stay south and miss the US coastline. I plan on being at the 2 day course and meeting those of you taking the class. Hope to see you there. (August 24-25) For mor info on the class go to www.BestTrainingSchool.com

Michael King agrees to attend upcoming NORMI Certified Mold Assessor class
June 22, 2007 Abita Springs, LA — Michael King, nationally syndicated talk show host of www.HomeTalkUSA.com, has agreed to attend the upcoming NORMI Certified Mold Assessor class in New Orleans, LA on August 24-25, 2007. As the "Guru of Remodeling", the "Cajun Contractor" expressed his excitement about the upcoming class by exclaiming, "I’ve been so excited about NORMI for a long time and what they are doing in the Mold Industry so I wanted to learn FIRST-HAND what I need to know about mold. I appreciate the invitation and look forward to this opportunity."
"Mr. King was invited to take a look at our organization because he has been such a valuable asset in helping us spread the word about NORMI and the importance of being properly trained," said Doug Hoffman, Executive Director of NORMI. "He knows a lot about licensing and the importance of good training so I know his input will be invaluable to us as we move forward training many more inspectors and remediators."
NORMI is the National Organization of Remediators and Mold Inspectors, one of the few approved training providers for the State of Louisiana that requires certified training for Mold Remediators. Training includes all aspects of the mold inspection, assessment, and remediation services and its members provide those services throughout the United States. Those interested in being trained are encouraged to register early at www.BestTrainingSchool.com where a variety of classes and the class schedule is located.
Starting to look like Dean is going to miss the USA Coast. This class invloves a field trip. I would hate to have to go in the rain and wind.
This was a great weekend. Honing up on the basics of mold inspection and air quality as well as a lot of info about what direction this industry is taking.
Excellent information, GREAT networking with colleagues and a never-ending "tales from the trenches" with all the other inspectors, remediators and related professionals!
…just back from the CMA Class in New Orleans. What a great class we had. I would like to thank all the students and staff for their efforts in making the class a great learning experience.
The field trip to the 9th Ward and other devastated areas provided a firsthand account as to the destructive power of water and the after effects of contamination.
2 Years have passed since the Hurricane devastated the area. The destruction in the area to the infrastructure and private property cannot be described in words. However, many of the homes we saw in the area are salvageable and in time will be rebuilt. With education and time, the proper testing, procedures, protocols, and materials will be used to reconstruct much of the area. The only thing positive taken from the devastation, was the learning experience the class received from the onsite tour.
